Just want to throw some love and comfort to all who need it these days. We're all really, really hurting. Anne, thanks for your posts that always bring a smile, a snicker, a laugh. If any of our Canadian neighbors are reading this . . . . we are so sorry you got dragged into this mess.
Thank you. I feel positively Canadian in my impulse to continually apologize for this mess we have caused. I don’t think I will ever live long enough not to be sorry.
If I had more sun in my yard, I would feel more enamored of them. Still, I do get some good ones, not to mention the scars. Of course, my favorite is the thimbleberry, which as you probably know, must go directly from vine to mouth.

I’m so glad you’re still here with me.
The exquisite wine-dark flavor of wild blackberries is a PNW treasure. And I’ve got the scars to prove it💜

My favorite part of this post was your perfect description of gathering BlackBerries 😂🙌❤️
What a beautifully written piece. One of the paragraphs instantly brought to mind David Mallett's "Garden Song":
"...Find my way in nature's chain
Tune my body and my brain
To the music from the land."
And never negotiate with blackberries; they'll lie to you every time!
Thank you. There is some group that these lying blackberries remind me of….trying to put my finger on it…
Thank you, Stan Rogers:
" ... With smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go,
Turn to, and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain..."
Stan Rogers is one of the greats of all time.
