I think we all picked up on that glimmer of hope mentioned early this morning that pandas are still on the Chinese-American agenda. I'll even concede that I'll allow San Diego to get their pandas before DC. It's only fair. But anyway - - - HOORAAAAYYYY!!!!!! Have a great evening and sleep well tonight everyone. It is amazing how this nooz brightened my mood for the whole day. I realize the GQP still have a lot of fuckery in store for us, but for now, I will sleep well and dream of new pandas coming to play here.

Pandas are so wonderful to watch. They are so calm and peaceful, but please do not appear threatening to a cubbie. Mommee Panda will rip you open if you seem to be a danger to her precious cub. True of all parents!

I woke up to people talking on the radio about pandas, and there were quite the stack of notifications. I see that we were right to refuse to give up hope for more pandas.
I remember the morning Tai Shan left when the keepers were outside the door to his room setting up the cage used to take him out. He could hear them talking and making noise outside the door. He really wanted to know what was going on but there was no window to see out of so he got down on the floor and looked through the small space at the bottom of the door. I thought that was so smart of him. I still miss him.
