After reading the Encore Presentation, I went to You Tube and looked up the wonderful videos of Mr. Wu’s check ups with the veterinarians and keepers and loved just seeing how sweet Mr. Wu was as a tiny cubbie. The vets and keepers took such good care of him, and the footage is so adorable to watch. Also there is a clip of Mr. Wu and his green ball which is just wonderful to watch! Check these out if you are in search of some Awww! moments! Am I looking for my inner panda? I guess so! Love this cartoon!

I think I am gushing! ❤️🐼❤️🐼

I love this story of Wu! I miss Wu! And his Mommee and his Daddee. What a shame San Diego closed out the Pandas! Yes, I know, but China needs to rethink its panda policy with the US. And so does the US!

I totally agree, Billie. I had hoped that when we had a new administration in the US that SDZ would be able to restart their panda connection with China. I guess not. The Zoo is still an outstanding experience but it's lost it's excitement for me without our beloved panda family.

I am still holding out a faint hope that you will get pandas back in Pandiego. I'm headed into Seattle this week to deliver a painting to my gallery there, and plan to take a spin through the woodland Park zoo. I finally got a membership, not that I use it that much. I want to see the gorilla family and the new Grizzly bear cubs that were rescued from two different places. I decided their names are BOTH Pookie. They are especially cute!

Little did I know when I first wrote this 9 years ago, that there would come a day when the pandas were gone from Panda Canyon. It's not QUITE as bad as depicted here, but still, it is very sad that we don't have pandas in Pandiego any more. I could watch Mr Wu's baby videos over and over again. He really was the cutest cubby.
