As I write this, to publish on Monday morning, we have just a couple more days left of 2024. This is when everyone starts writing “Year in Review” posts so I guess I’m not all that original. In the pursuit of trying to not follow the pack in writing about accomplishments or uplifting moments, I will share some of the notable (notice I did not say highlights) moments of 2024…
January
We are still having regular meetings on Zoomie…
February
Family relations continue apace at the Panda House
March
I guess China doesn’t totally hate us (for the moment) because…
April
So…how did THAT all work out?
May
The election season starts heating up, for better or…no I take that back. It’s just worst.
June
Remember when we thought Nixon was the worst president, ever?
July
We’re halfway through the year! What could possibly go wrong?
August
Nixon’s Ghost takes some amusement from the Manhattan trial…
September
I know who I’d rather run into while walking alone in the woods…
October
Things are getting really tense, election-wise, and yes, it was as bad as you thought it would be.
November
Can I just go to bed for the next four years?
December
Are we looking for hope? I don’t know. We do have new pandas in DC and Pandiego…Maybe you can take over for me for a while with this handy Panda Satire Generator…
Well, that was my year in a nutshell! I have no idea whether we will survive this or not. The Department of Ginormous Egos is fighting with the Make America White Again folks and all Felon 45 wants to think about is getting even with everyone who ever said anything mean about him, and emptying the entire US Treasury into his own Banky Pig. I’ll keep up the panda satire till they pry the ink bottle out of my paws.
If you need a little entertainment, I’ve done a 2 part Encore Presentation of Beary Poppins. Part 1 is here, and Part 2 is here. For a wonderful visual essay on the importance of editorial cartooning, the brilliant Ann Telnaes lays it out here:
A big thanks to all of those who are subscribers to my eclectic channel here, both long time and recent friends to bears and art! I am so appreciative of everyone choosing to spend time here. All my content is available to all who follow/subscribe because that’s how we roll around here. That said, I am grateful to those who can and choose to have paid subscriptions. It pays for some of those art supplies and hosting fees for The Panda Chronicles. It takes a lot of bamboo to keep those pandas fed!
I love this! Just what I needed! Little pandas, the Ghost of Nixon, Frank and Mikey as reporters, Mommee Mei as Head Referee, Six and Sebben, Mittens found guilty, guilty guilty, etc.!
Loved this!!! Thank you!!!!
