What I will be doing on Monday January 20th, 2025

I bet you can guess what I won't be doing

My sleep has gotten worse over the last couple weeks. I’m guessing you can guess why. In my efforts to at least blunt the onslaught of outrage that wells up in me at every new terrible choice in advisors and cabinet members, and every new grift that FFOTUS undertakes, I’m limiting my news sources. I can’t completely shut out the news from my life. I’m just not that kind of bear. But burning myself out like I did in the first Reign of Terror is not an option if I am to survive.

Firstly…

For those of you who are new to The Panda Chronicles or Finding My Inner Panda, the role of FOTUS* will be played by Mittens the Cat, with the comb over fur and an insane gaze.

So what will I be doing on Monday?

Monday events:
9 AM: Head over to Yoga
10-11 AM: Yoga class
Noon-ish: a little lunch
After lunch: a short nap
After nap: outside! Those weeds and pruning aren’t going to do themselves!
Afternoon: work in the studio. Start a new monotype while the others in process are drying so I can add the (I hope) final layer of printing early next week
Finish new ‘toon for Tuesday’s Panda Chronicle’s post
Take another nap
Listen to audio book from my fabulous public library
Maybe watch a movie
Think about pandas

I will also be thinking about the real life Mehitabel, who decided that continuing to exist in a world with FOTUS in charge of thing is DC was too much for her to bear. Okay, she was almost 21, which is a righteous age for a cat to attain, but I think it was more about FOTUS than anything else. She lives on in the Panda Chronicles, with her otherworldly halo.

So, for those of you who are less than excited about tomorrow’s events in DC, I hope my schedule, and a little panda satire will help you through the day. Pet your puppies and kitties, have a cookie, and try to believe that it will all be okay.
