I don’t know if Mary Poppins was considered a Christmas/Holiday movie, but for some reason I think it feels that way to me, and since this Noozletter is all about MY Inner Panda, I’m just going to go with that thought.
But first! A bit of background on Frank and Mikey
As you know, my ‘toon series is The Panda Chronicles, so what the heck are a couple of grizzly bears doing there? For the answer to that question, we must time travel back to 2018 and the Kavenaugh hearings.
During the hearings, with all the revelations of “alleged” bad behavior of said Supreme Court nominee, “I like beer”, I said to my friend, “boy if there was anyone who should be eaten by grizzly bears, it’s this guy!” Of course, once I said it, then I had to draw it.
As with most stray animals that you invite in on a cold night, once they are there, it’s kind of hard to turn them out on the street again. So once Frank and Mikey insinuated themselves into the Panda House, it was kind of hard to get them to leave. They’ve popped up in a number of stories unrelated to the Panda House, which I’m sure we’ll get to by and by. (Like why Frank has a pair of fuzzy dice stuck on his ear) For now though, lets get a big bowl of popcorn and mebbee a few cuppycakes and a mug of hot cocoa, and watch the first episodes of Beary Poppins (with BIG apologies to PL Travers)
Beary Poppins: Part 1
We’ll be back on Monday with the next installment of Beary Poppins! See you then!
I love these grizzlies! They are so cute! And came to stay just when they were needed in the Panda House!
