Attention Must Be Paid!
It is the actual Birthday of the MOST Beloved Panda in the Pandaverse
Pinky made me write that subheading, but it is true. Princess Pinky (aka Bao Bao, meaning precious treasure) (Pinky: MOST precious treasure more than my brother) grabbed everyone’s attention and never let go. The DC pandarazzi went absolutely apeshit for the cutest baby panda in the universe. The fact that the panda cam went dark for over a month due to the Republican House holding the country’s budget hostage only made her fame and magical aura grow to epic proportions. The phenomenon of #PandTwitter was cemented during this time.
We visited Pinky’s early years in last week’s post, but of course the only proper amount of attention to Pinky is more, more, MORE!

Confession. I was the volunteer on duty when she touched the hot wire and spent 24 hours up a tree. For old time panda fans her brother Tai Shan regularly refused to come down from trees earning the nickname Slayer of Keeper Overtime.
PINKYYYYYYYY.... yaas!!! she is a superstar. I started following her on panda cam when the government shutdown occurred, because the outrage of her fans came out in the press. I immediately became addicted. UN-RE-SIS-DA-BEL
