Just a short note today, to say thank you for all of you who follow me here, and read the stuff that comes out of my keyboard. There has been a lot to be scared about in the news lately, right now and in the future.
So, it is extra special that we have this place to gather and think about pandas. Okay, okay, we think about other things too, but I have spent a lot of that last 15 years thinking about pandas a LOT, and it has been a very good thing. (Also, I had to use a calculator to figure out just how many years my brain had been on pandas.)
Every once in a while, someone will ask me, “but why PANDAS?” The answer is actually pretty simple, and because the pandas are tied to events that I cannot forget, even if I would like to, I can remember exactly when it was that pandas entered my life.
In 2008 the economy went sploot, and the art market went sploot right along with it. Unlike other ups and down in art sales, the down continued with no up in sight. The thing that saved me from sinking so far into despair was an article about pandas (written by
no less) and so my journey to pandas began.I am so thankful for all that subscribe to this noozletter, and even more thankful for those of you who are able to be paid subscribers. Everyone is welcome here, in the way of the panda, whether it is in your budget to support me or not.
If you need ideas for holiday presents, well, nothing says holiday shopping like panda commerce! Spoonflower and Redbbuble are in the throes of their holiday deal season. So this would be a very good time to hop over to my shops on Redbubble or Spoonflower to do a little holiday shopping. I've also been easing into my winter felty routine so if you were thinking about ordering some felties, this would be a great time to do it. Just reach out to me through the Contact Us page over at the Panda Chronicles with your wishes and desires! And Panda Chronicles books make excellent presents! There are 10 now, plus the coloring books!
Make Way for Pandas in December!
I’ve written several holiday themed panda tales over the years, and I love to have encore presentations of them to celebrate the season! Look for them starting next week. I probably have enough for more than one post a week! So fire up the popcorn maker, make some hot cocoa with little marshymallows and settle in for some panda fun. God knows we’ll need it in the months to come (see: republican/election shitshow)
Panda on everyone!
There is nothing better than to reread the adventures of pandas involved in various holidays! I look forward to indulging in cuppycakes and my favorite tea as I begin to enjoy this yearly treat! These panda stories have made me smile and laugh out loud and relieved much tension in my life. Try them! They are wonderful!
And check out Anne’s books--marvelous stories about the pandas who have lived in various cities in the United States--San Diego, Atlanta, Memphis, and my special favorites who were at the SMITHSONIAN National Zoo in Washington, DC. Nothing better than making another cup of tea and reliving the adventures of brave little pandas!
I am just thankful I found Anne Belov on social media and Substack! Huzzah!
Love it!!
